I am experienced solver, having competed in the NY Times tournament a couple times, finishing in the middle of the pack. I've done a half dozen puzzles since getting this book. They are challenging but solvable, with some interesting cluing. I would recommend this volume to solvers who can handle moderate difficulty. Think Thursday NY Times.
I was only able to work on the first few of these puzzles. I got discouraged and gave the book to a friend. Seem to be Friday, Saturday and Sunday-type puzzles -- not a mix of easy-to-hard, as I had hoped.
I buy this book all the time.This edition is my latest and I have pre-ordered the next one.I find the puzzles challenging but not so hard that I lose interest.I peruse the themes of each one and look for favorites.Pleasantly surprised with the way the author connects the theme to answers and clues.The earlier editions (with 2 authors) were not as enjoyable so I always look for the editions by J. Samson alone.Keep them coming.
